Staying Safe Every Day

About Me

Staying Safe Every Day

As soon as I turned 21, I realized that there were some things I needed to do in order to stay safe when I was out with my friends. For starters, I began focusing carefully on drinking responsibly. We would go through, talk about our plan to stay safe for the evening, and then hit the club with a responsible mindset. We also worked towards limiting the number of drinks that we were able to have, which helped us to stay even safer. This website is here to help other people to stay safe when they are drinking to prevent problems down the road.

5 Tips on Drinking Alcohol Responsibly

Ever since modern advertisement began, you will always hear of manufacturers insisting on drinking responsibly. Again, you have heard of terrible things that have happened to people who got drunk and lost control of themselves.

It is not that the people who experience awful things after drinking alcohol are heavy users or reckless. It just that they didn't know how to drink responsibly. In this article, you will learn tips that will guide you towards responsible drinking.

1. Eat Before You Drink

The moment you consume alcohol, it will be digested in the stomach and small intestines. Then alcohol will be absorbed into the bloodstream. However, the absorption of alcohol takes place faster if you are drinking on an empty stomach.

When you have a full stomach, alcohol will be absorbed slowly in the stomach, and hence you won't blackout easily. With that in mind, it is ideal to always have a meal before drinking alcohol. Remember also to drink plenty of water.

2. Space Out

Mindfully spacing out your drinks will help you enjoy alcohol for a more extended period. If you plan to have two beers on a night, you shouldn't drink the beers in the first five minutes. In fact, you should always stick to one drink per hour.

You should space out your drink because you will have enough time to pay attention to how alcohol is reacting with your body. You will know if you should add another drink or if you are done for the night. The best way you can space out your drinks is to alternate drinking alcohol with water.

3. Know Yourself

Everyone has a different experience when it comes to alcohol consumption. If you are drinking for the first time, there is no need to drink up several bottles of alcohol. On the other hand, if you are a habitual drinker, you already know the amount of alcohol that satisfies you. There is no need to overdrink.

4. Do Not Drink and Drive

This is one of the most common pieces of advice you will get if you enjoy drinking alcohol. Do not drink and drive. Alcohol interferes with your judgment. You are most likely to cause accidents whenever you drink and drive.

If you happen to be drunk and need to reach home, you should always have someone else drive you home.  Alternatively, you can hire a cab or call a friend to come to pick you up.

5. Avoid Binge Drinking

You are supposed to drink only a drink per hour because your body can only metabolize alcohol in the bloodstream within an hour. Imagine if you had three drinks in an hour. Your body will be overwhelmed, and you might blackout.

Again, be careful of what you are drinking. One beer and one glass of wine all contain the same amount of alcohol. Keeping an eye on what you consume will help your body comfortably handle the level of alcohol in the bloodstream.

Closing Thoughts

It is time to enjoy your most-loved drink. Now that you understand the hacks that will help you enjoy alcohol responsibly, order the drink you love from your favorite liquor store and enjoy.
